Diagnostic Department at UMCL plays a vital role in the overall clinic system by providing a wide range of testing and evaluation services. Our team uses modern technologies and experienced medical professionals to ensure accurate and timely diagnoses, which are critical for effective treatment plans.

The laboratory operates daily during clinic hours. You can either combine laboratory tests with your doctor's appointment or come exclusively for diagnostics.

For self-paying patients, laboratory tests and other diagnostic procedures (ultrasounds, ECG, and others) do not require a doctor's referral. For insured patients, a referral is required (which can be arranged by our specialists) and will also influence the cost of the examinations.

• Speed and Simplicity: You don't need a doctor's referral or to know the names of tests in Portuguese. Just schedule a visit to the clinic and undergo the necessary examination.
• Combining with Appointments: You don’t need to visit the clinic multiple times or go to different laboratories. You can have your prescribed tests done immediately after your consultation, and ultrasounds can be performed by specialized doctors (e.g., cardiologists or gynecologists) during the appointment.
• Translation Assistance: We help translate referrals and/or test results from your native language to Portuguese and back if needed for your treatment (for an additional fee).
• Wide Range of Tests and Screenings in One Place: We perform all types of ultrasound diagnostics (including echocardiograms, breast ultrasounds, and pelvic gynecological ultrasounds), electrocardiograms, spirometry, and other tests. We also conduct all types of laboratory tests, including liquid cytology and genetic tests.
• Comprehensive Screenings and Check-Ups: Specially designed comprehensive programs for different demographic groups and life situations, including screenings for STIs and cancer.

• Ultrasound: We provide all types of ultrasound examinations, including cardiac assessments and gynecological screenings. These non-invasive tests help visualize internal organs and monitor various health conditions.
• Electrocardiogram (ECG): Our team conducts ECGs to assess heart health and detect any irregularities in heart rhythm.
• Spirography: This test measures lung function and breathing capacity.
• Laboratory Tests: We conduct a wide range of laboratory analyses for blood, urine, and other biological samples for comprehensive health assessments.
• Colposcopy: For women’s health, our colposcopy services provide a detailed examination of the cervix and surrounding tissues, particularly useful in following up on abnormal Pap test results.

Note: While we offer a comprehensive array of diagnostic services, please note that we do not provide X-rays or CT scans. We can assist in coordinating with local facilities if imaging is required.
